SPECIAL NOTE: Open Access publishing by EPL

Open access copyright and user licencing policy

From 1 April 2013 all EPL articles published under the Gold Open Access scheme are to be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution, or CC-BY, Licence. This allows users to re-use the content in any way they like, provided it is accurately attributed. Copyright remains with the agreed copyright owner.

This licence also makes EPL fully compliant with the RCUK's policy on open access.

Pricing for 2013

EPL continues to provide authors with an option of publishing articles freely accessible by all, if a single-article fee of €1,200 ($1,579) is paid prior to publication. The Open Access option is offered on submission of an article to the Editorial Office.

EPL is also pleased to announce a continuation of the policy whereby the Editor-in-Chief, with advice from the Editorial Board, has the latitude to reward outstanding letters by granting Open Access free of charge. Authors of these articles will be notified once their article has been accepted.

All submitted articles will still be subject to rigorous peer review to maintain the high standard of articles published in EPL. Authors will benefit from expert advice by the members of the Editorial Board and enjoy rapid publication in addition to open access, where applicable. Exceptional articles may be fast-tracked through production to online publication within 11 days.
