In this letter we demonstrated precisely that the mass of the massive Carroll-Field-Jackiw model can emerge from a condensation of the topological defects. To accomplish the task we have used an approach named Julia-Toulouse mechanism and we described how a condensation of topological defects can drive the system to a phase with a massive theory.
