Quasinormal modes of novel 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet Anti-de Sitter black holes

We comprehensively analyze the Quasinormal Modes (QNMs) of the external matter field perturbation (including scalar, electromagnetic and Dirac field perturbation) and the gravitational perturbation (including odd and even parity perturbation) of novel 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) black holes (BHs) in Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The corresponding master equation in the form of perturbations and their respective effective potential is derived. Here we focus on the influence of the cosmological constant Λ, coupling parameters α and angular quantum numbers l on the QNMs frequency of novel 4D EGB AdS BHs. The results show that with the increase of the absolute value of the coupling parameters α and angular quantum numbers l, the oscillation of the novel 4D EGB BHs is enhanced, but the decay decreases. However, as the absolute value of the cosmological constant Λ increases, the oscillation and decay of the novel 4D EGB BHs becomes faster and faster. Therefore, the analysis of QNMs by the dynamic evolution image provides direct evidence for the local stability of the novel 4D EGB AdS BHs.
