The polarization of second and third harmonics of 15 mJ, 700 fs, 248 nm KrF laser pulses has been measured with a three-mirror reflection polarization analyser for different target materials at both S- and P-polarized incident laser light. The polarization of the detected harmonics has been found to follow the polarization of the laser beam. A simple analytical, theoretical model is given which partly explains the results.
