Scaling and optimal coupling strength in the synchronization of relaxationally coupled integrate-and-fire oscillatorsH. Daido and S. Matsumoto

Synchronization in a pair of non-identical integrate-and-fire oscillators coupled with exponentially relaxing excitatory stimuli is studied analytically as well as numerically with the focus on 1:1 synchronization. It is found that when the relaxation time of each stimulus is finite, increasing the coupling strength causes desynchronization in some parameter range. Scaling behavior of the phase boundary of synchronization is also found for and .
