The spherical limit of various non-linear dynamical systems is being widely studied at present. Here we study this limit for the case of critical dynamics of systems with reversible mode coupling terms (isotropic ferromagnet, superfluid helium and the liquid-gas critical point). The answers for these systems being known from other techniques, these are ideal test cases for examining the accuracy of the spherical limit.
