Short-range order in liquid tellurium probed by X-ray absorption spectroscopy
European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - B.P. 220, F-38043 Grenoble, France
Accepted: 16 January 1997
We have performed X-ray absorption measurements on crystalline and liquid Te with a third-generation synchrotron radiation source obtaining extremely high-quality data. Reliable short-range pair correlation functions have been determined using ab initio multiple-scattering calculations taking into account the medium-range structure evaluated by previous neutron and X-ray scattering studies.
