Simultaneous propagation of cracks in glass plates is studied in a directional crack growth experiment. The main result of this study is the existence of a periodic crack pattern propagating straight in a finite domain of crack spacings. Its stability range decreases with the system size, and leads to a single intrinsic selected crack spacing for large systems.
