The goal of this paper is to observe the distortion of a caustic to the passage at an interface. More exactly, it is a question of a plane interface between an anisotropic elastic solid and a perfect elastic fluid. We analyse the refraction of the elastic wave fronts emanating from a point source located in the solid at different distances from the interface. This study finds applications for non-destructive anisotropic materials evaluation and for acoustical microscopy.
