The height-height correlation function of a single fluctuating membrane in the presence of an external potential is calculated. Using this result, the structure factor of the membrane is computed, taking into account the in-plane density-density correlation function. Limits of the height-height correlation function are used to calculate the structure factor and then it is compared with its numerical solution.
