Fast driving: Effective equations of motion for classical systems
Instituto de Física, Universidade Federal de Goiás - 7400-970, Goiânia, GO, Brasil
Accepted: 30 August 1999
A general theory of a large class of classical dynamical systems with an external rapidly oscillating driving action is proposed. A Hamiltonian formalism is used in order to permit a straightforward transition to the statistical thermodynamics of these systems. The main result of this work are the effective equations for the mean motion.
