Photoluminescence signature of positively charged excitons
in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well is studied both
experimentally and theoretically. For the first time we have observed the formation of a mixed
light- and heavy-hole
complex as well as the light-hole triplet state. It is
shown that the complex of mixed type becomes the system ground state in
sufficiently large magnetic fields. The effect of positively charged
exciton ionization induced by an external electric field is studied for
singlet and triplet states in a wide range of magnetic field. The experimental
results agree well with theoretical calculations based on the
Luttinger Hamiltonian.
