We analyze the possible occurrence of ferromagnetism in the Anderson lattice model, generalized with the inclusion of the so-called Falicov-Kimball term, describing the on-site Coulomb repulsion between localized and itinerant electrons. We discuss the conditions under which a ferromagnetic ground state is established in one dimension when the number of electrons exceeds by one the number of sites. In particular, we show that the critical value of the localized electron site energy at which the magnetic transition occurs is considerably affected by the Falicov-Kimball interaction, as a consequence of the modification of the electron occupancies in the ground state.
