We present the results of efficiency and net power output for Feynman's ratchet and pawl engine and its electric counterpart, the diode engine, calculated by means of a recently developed optimization criterion. In both cases a unified working regime between those predicted by maximum efficiency and maximum power calculations was found. These results extend previous findings for macroscopic heat engines and some molecular motors to mesoscopic energy converters.
