We present a new algebraic method for treating molecular
vibrations in the Morse potential perturbed by an external field.
We introduce a discrete normalizable basis, allowing to expand
the dissociated states, as well. The Morse Hamiltonian is
particularly simple in this basis, and the matrix elements of a
realistic molecular dipole moment operator can also be expressed
analytically. As a demonstration, we apply our method to calculate
the dissociation probability of the molecule excited by
appropriate series of chirped laser pulses.
