Lattice stochastic resonance in coupled map lattice

We report a new kind of stochastic-resonance phenomenon in a coupled map lattice, which we refer to as lattice stochastic resonance. It involves the noise-assisted detection of a subthreshold spatial signal, both static and travelling along the lattice. Potential practical applications are also indicated.
