A new phenomenon for the activation rate is found, for which the activation rate can be hugely increased by increasing the positive value of the three-state noise. We call it the phenomenon of “giant enhancement of activation rate”. In addition, a new kind of phenomenon of stochastic resonance is found, for which the response of the system to the input signal can be hugely intensified by the presence of the phenomenon of “giant enhancement of activation rate”.
