In the context of the universal quantum wave equation recently obtained by us (Arbab A. I., EPL, 92 (2010) 40001), a vector particle is introduced in contrast to a vector field particle. A massless vector particle has zero inertial and magnetic fields, whereas a massive particle has a vanishing inertial magnetic field, but a nonzero inertial electric field. A longitudinal inertial wave is found to be produced by a moving particle. The Proca and van Vlaenderen-Waser equations generalizing Maxwell equations are found to be linked to the universal quantum wave equation. It is found that the existence of massive photon is a consequence of breaking the Lorenz gauge.
