We present analytical formulae for the neutrino mixing angles at the next-to-leading order in the quark-lepton complementarity, and show that higher-order corrections are important to explain the observed pattern of neutrino mixing. In particular, the next-to-leading–order corrections 1) lead to a deviation of from maximal mixing, 2) reduce the predicted value of
by
, 3) provide the same value of
as that of the tri-bimaximal mixing.
