Exact discrete spectrum of the Zakharov-Shabat scattering problem for a phase-modulated wave packet

The simple exact Zakharov-Shabat scattering problem discrete spectrum is presented for the special initial data of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, having the form $q(x)=A\exp [iB\log ( \cosh (x ) )] /\cosh(x)$ . The salient features of this solution and the issues of its stability are discussed.
