We present a method for transmitting digital information by modulation between a nonchaotic strange attractor and another chaotic or nonchaotic attractor. The information is recovered at the receiver by employing the synchronization between the nonchaotic attractors of the receiver and the transmitter. It is demonstrated by numerical simulations that the method is secure and robust to external noise.
